Julien Royer, of Singapore’s Odette, will collaborate with Jia Group’s Yenn Wong to present a casual French restaurant this summer

This summer, Yenn Wong’s Jia Group is opening a new restaurant. Taking over the space where Aberdeen Street Social currently resides, the local group is joining hands with Singapore’s The Lo & Behold Group. Together the two groups are collaborating on Louise, a brand new casual French eatery with renowned chef Julien Royer of Odette—the T.Dining Singapore Top 20 Restaurant that also recently placed #1 on the 2019 Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list.

Opened in 2014, Aberdeen Street Social one of Jia Group’s multiple collaborations with chef Jason Atherton, including Wan Chai’s 22 Ships. The contemporary British restaurant is set to close after April 1, after which the interiors of the two-storey place will be stripped down and refurbished with a brand new design conceptualised by celebrated designer Andre Fu. Louise is the newest concept by Royer, whose Singapore restaurant is known for its refined approach to French fine dining as well impeccable culinary techniques and premium service. Royer’s Hong Kong debut will take a different approach.

It’s going to be a place to hang out, a place where you can find refined, comforting French fare. We serve the kind of food that I like to eat when I go out with other chefs.

Royer will explore the more casual take on French comfort food while revisiting his roots in the Hong Kong restaurant, including an exploration of nostalgic dishes that the chef grew up eating. Louise is set to open June 2019. Watch this space as we bring more on Julien Royer’s Hong Kong debut.
