The season of extreme eating is upon us as we gear up for the 33rd edition of our annual Best Restaurants Guide, which means our team will be dining out at least 4-5 times a week for the next few months. Currently, Isoya is one of my favourite spots for guilt-free Japanese vegetarian meals when I'm feeling overindulged. Their lime somen and chuka soba (pictured) are a must for noodle fans. —Charmaine Mok, Editorial Director of Food & Wine

Celebrating the special characteristics of Zhongshan cuisine, the Royal Garden Chinese Restaurant is inviting guest chefs from four esteemed restaurants in the area to take part in a month-long cuisine showcase, allowing guests to taste the best that Zhongshan offers. Our pick? These golden brown spare ribs were deep-fried until crunchy on the outside but juicy within. It's totally addictive to have them one right after one another. —Wilson Fok, Dining Editor

Chesa

This old favourite at The Peninsula isn't just for cold, dreary autumn and winter nights—and their buttery, flaky apple tart served with blueberries and yoghurt ice cream just became one of our favourite desserts of the month. While a typical meal here is pretty filling, make sure you save room for this pastry gem. —CM

Sometimes a simple bowl of noodle soup is all you need. Here, pho from the hugely popular Brass Spoon has a great proportion of spice to meat in the rich broth. —WF

Corner House, Singapore

All eyes were on Singapore last night as results of the first ever Michelin awards in the city were announced, and I had the fortune of dining at Corner House on the eve of the awards. It may have received one macaron, but it was hardly a surprise—our counterparts in Singapore already knew the extent of chef Jason Tan's culinary prowess when they appointed it 2015's Best New Restaurant in the newest edition of Singapore Tatler Best Restaurants. The meal featured creations such as carabinero prawn dish with variations of tomato with vintage sherry (pictured up top), chef Tan's incredible four-part Cévennes onion medley, and ended with a series of desserts and petits fours including these delightful salted egg yolk macarons. —CM
