Drink Your Sorrows Away This Valentine's at The Diplomat x Yardbird's Broken Hearts Club
Festivals are never kind to singles, and Hong Kong's annual double whammy of Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day falling within days of each other, or—in the case of this year—at the very same time makes this adage doubly true. Leave it to the folks at Yardbird and The Diplomat to save the day with the an event they're dubbing The Broken Hearts Club.
Recently awarded their first Michelin star by the 2021 edition of the Michelin Guide Hong Kong and Macau, Yardbird's chef Matt Abergel takes over the kitchen at The Diplomat for one day only on Sunday 14 February for a all-you-can-eat kushiage (deep-fried meat and vegetable skewers originating from Osaka) washed down with Sunday’s Whisky highballs and free-flowing Diplomat American Pale and Brooklyn Defender IPA.
Those interested can choose from General Admission tickets (HK$500 per person) for unlimited kushiage, craft beer and one token for a Sunday's Whisky Highball. Meanwhile, the VIP ticket (HK$800 per person) adds free-flow Sunday's Whisky Highballs and Pol Roger champagne, as well as access to the Social Club space with a private DJ. Tables will be limited to two people in observance of current social distancing guidelines.
Tickets for two seatings between 2pm and 4pm, and 4pm to 6pm can be booked online here.
