The three-storey restaurant and bar delivers a taste of northern Spain with grilled dishes

Set to open late September in Wan Chai, The Optimist is a three-storey asador-inspired restaurant and bar with a strong focus on rustic grilled items with influence from Northern Spain.

Operated by the same team that opened Pirata, The Optimist takes up three floors, starting from a bar and all-day dining on the ground floor, the main dining area on the first floor and the grill for casual and group dining option on the second floor, complete with a private dining space that seats eight.

The Optimist brings a homely ambience with strong metallic furnishing and natural textures, combined with themed artwork and lighting delivers a design that exudes comfort for the restaurant. The menu offers rustic dishes including a fine selection of meats and seafood grilled to order. Signature dishes include:

- Txuleta (thick steak cut from rib-eye of 30-day aged Rubia Gallega)
- Rodaballo a la brasa (grilled turbot)
