This season, we extend our appreciation of beauty onto delicate sweet and savoury treats, best paired with a refreshing brew. Here are our top picks for this season’s best exclusive afternoon tea sets.

Tosca at Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong


What: Celebrating the launch of the Mimosa collection, luxury jeweler Damiani is partnering up with Tosca at the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong to present a luxurious afternoon tea set showcasing the intriguing beauty of the jewellery collection.  The exclusive jewellery collection will be on display at the restaurant’s private tea-serving venue while guests enjoy chef Lavarra’s savoury and sweet treats including Alba chocolate truffle, Apple glass, Piedmontese hazelnut and spice bread, Caprese cake with tea cremeux and tomato amaretti. The limited edition afternoon tea set and a private viewing display of Damiani’s artistic designs are priced at HK$428 per person.

Lobby Lounge at The InterContinental


What: Following the opening of Rech , the InterContinental is launching a new exclusive afternoon tea set starting early April. The Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse presents guests with limited edition chocolate treats from the esteemed chef’s chocolate brand. The hotel’s executive pastry chef Cyril Dupuis takes cacao beans from five different regions, replicating five chocolate desserts from three of Ducasse’s best restaurants into the limited-edition afternoon tea set, notably including craquelin chocolate, sarazin ice cream in chocolate cup, and Sacher mango cake. The tea set for two, priced at HK$608 on weekdays and HK$628 on weekends and public holidays, also include savoury sandwiches, plain and raisin scones and house made chocolate brioches.

Ebb and Flow at Park Lane Hong Kong


What: The annual art week may have drawn to a close, but we are welcoming inspiring exhibitions across town, including Park Lane’s Ebb & Flow, where local artist Tristan Sum-chi Ng’s exhibition “Into the Groove”, a series of artwork that inspire the restaurant’s new artistic afternoon tea set. Guests can enjoy an array of open-top sandwiches, together with sweet morsels such as marshmallow pear almond tart, chocolate lollipops and Opera cake, with plain and raisin scones to indulge in while enjoying the exhibition. The new tea set is priced at HK$198 per person and HK$388 for two.

The Lounge at JW Marriott Macau


What: Easter arrives early at JW Marriott Macau, where The Lounge is collaborating with Macanese pastry chef Nicole Lei of celebrated Macau patisserie Kafka Sweets and Gourmandises this spring holiday with a new ‘Egg-cellent Tea Party’ afternoon tea. The set showcases the independent sweets brand’s dessert collections including Nest (lychee mousse with raspberry and lime compote and crumble), Jumping Rabbit (creamy hazelnut with passion fruit marmalade and crumble), and Harvest (Valrhona chocolate Manjari 64% ganache and coconut chocolate panna cotta with green tea crumble). The lounge will present an array of savoury items such as choux filled with creamy crabmeat salad and poached salmon on brown toast with shrimp butter. The Easter-themed afternoon tea set is priced at MOP 298 per person.

Palm Court At The Langham


What: The hotel’s executive pastry chef Matthieu Godard is launching a new Blooming Afternoon Tea, featuring an array of desserts inspired by and showcase sweet seasonal blossoms such as Jasmine (pistachio and white chocolate macaron filled with jasmine cream) to Daisy (sable Breton with raspberry mousse and Chantilly cream) and Marigold (fruity dome with lemon biscuit base, topped with yuzu mousse and apricot jam). The afternoon tea set also includes savoury treats and a take-home portrait designed and customized by British illustrator Tanya Bennett. The Blooming Afternoon tea is priced at HK$348 per person and HK$598 for two.

Cafe 103 at Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong


What: It is cherry blossom season at the Ritz-Carlton’s Café 103, as Hideaki Tanaka, guest pastry chef from Ritz Carlton Tokyo, is presenting six weeks of sakura-themed afternoon tea set. Inspired by the pastel pink blush of cherry blossoms, chef Tanaka is bringing a collection of tea treats including sakura flower-marinated radish roll with Zuwai crab and caviar, green tea sakura strawberry cake, soy milk panna cotta with sakura jelly, and sakura, strawberry and red bean mousse. The sakura afternoon tea set is priced at HK$378 for one at HK$638 for two on weekdays; it’s HK$398 for one and HK$658 for two on weekends and public holidays.
