Featuring flavours from spicy to sweet, the new theme welcomes the return of summer in Hong Kong
The latest theme for Tong Chong Street Market’s exciting year-round festival is “Hot & Cold Summer”, a celebration of local vendors and an eclectic range of food concepts. With this compelling name comes a new array of vendors and an enticing range of cuisines to pick from.
Among the participating vendors this month is Central restaurant Crazy Noodles, coming in the form of a food truck. Crazy Noodles serves authentic Sichuan style spicy noodles, and dishes such as cold noodles with hand-pulled chicken and snow fungus with peach gum are being offered exclusively at the festival. Another restaurant popping up at the festival is Chickpea, which has an impressive takeaway menu that features freshly made hummus, pita pockets, salads and more.
For vegan foodies who want to join in the fun, Big Dill will be serving comforting vegan burgers that are made with care using high quality, plant-based ingredients. We Serve Kitchen will be offering a vegan option as well: a cold udon with refreshing dressings. Also on their menu is an assortment of bentos made using fresh vegetables and handmade sauces, focusing deeply on Japanese fusion cuisine.
Another wholesome choice at the festival is Nüte, which will be offering ice-cool delights such as vegan smoothie bowls and savoury grain bowls. Their clean, nutritious menu gives customers a break from Hong Kong’s blazing summer heat.
