The pioneer of new Korean cuisine will be staging in Hong Kong with a unique tasting menu

There is much love for Korean cuisine, from Netflix’s Chef’s Table episode with Jeong Kwan  to the city’s first makgeolli-themed restaurant . And come July, chef Vicky Cheng of Vea will be feeding Hong Kong’s obsession when Seoul’s celebrated chef Jungsik Yim of restaurant Jungsik will be arriving in Hong Kong for a rare two-night collaboration dinner event.

Ranking 25th in this year’s list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, Jungsik is considered the new breed of Hansik, or Korean cuisine. The establishment’s unique culinary execution fuses traditional Korean techniques with local and seasonal ingredients, presenting different forms of familiar flavours.

From July 28 to 29, Jungsik’s chef-owner Jungsik Yim will be staging at Vea in a crossover with chef Vicky Cheng. Together the chef duo will prepare an eight-course special dinner menu, where each chef will prepare four dishes. Guests can anticipate some of the Korean restaurant’s signatures including Gim Bob (rice dish), galbi, and a dessert named Sujunggwa.

The limited edition four-hand dinner menu is priced at HK$2,380 per person, inclusive of a glass of Krug Grande Cuvée as welcome drink. An additional option for wine or cocktail pairing package is available at HK$680 per person.
