The hotel is celebrating Viennese coffee house culture with treats created by guest patissier Johannes Warmuth and barista Wolfgang Eisler

Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong is embracing the rich coffee house culture of Vienna this season, inviting sous chef patissier Johannes Warmuth and Kay Froehlich, manager of Café Central, as well as Wolfgang Eisler, barista at Julius Meinl to Hong Kong for an Austrian sweets and coffee promotion that runs from April 21 to May 1.

During his visit to Hong Kong, chef Warmuth and Café Central manager Kay Froehlich are presenting his homemade pastry selections such as wiener apfelstrudel, Mohr im Hemd, Esterhazy cake, Café Central gateau, and the renowned sachertorte. Served at Café Causette and Clipper Lounge during the promotional period, visiting barista Wolfgang Eisler from Julius Meinl is creating traditional Viennese-style coffees including kleiner brauner, wiener mélange, the franziskaner and Mozart café.

Cakes and pastries from both 150-year coffee houses are served as part of afternoon tea at Clipper Lounge. The afternoon tea set is priced at HK$288 per person and HK$498 for two. Guests can also enjoy cakes by the slice at Café Causette and Clipper Lounge during the promotion period. In addition, the signature sachertorte is also available at the Mandarin Cake Shop with by the slice option at HK$48 per slice or whole cake option at HK$888 per three-pound cake. All cakes and pastries from the Viennese promotion are available on the menu until June 20.
