Chef Matthias Knilling, the newly-appointed chef de cuisine at Mandarin Oriental, Macau, can sum up his culinary style in just four words: ‘art on a plate’. Born in Germany, Knilling has an impressive CV, having worked with celebrity chef Holger Stromberg, who won his first Michelin star at the age of 23, and at the Michelin-starred Schloss Elmau, Luxury Spa Retreat & Cultural Hideaway in the Bavarian Alps. Knilling will bring his own style and finesse to the Macau dining scene, in particular, to Vida Rica, where he will create a new western menu for both the restaurant and the bar. To sample some of his creations, visit the Tapas and Sangria themed night every Thursday from 6pm to 8pm at Vida Rica Bar or try the Degustation Dinner at Vida Rica Restaurant.
