Drink trends may come and go, but gin remains a libation loved through the ages. Perhaps even more so now, as specialised gin bars continue to pop up all over the world, including in Hong Kong. Love yourself a G&T? These are the bars that do it best.

This stylish Sai Ying Pun sip spot housed in a former ping pong parlour (from whence it gets its name) never fails to seduce with its stunning interiors and Spanish-style gin and tonics.

The soaring shelf behind the bar at Ping Pong Gintonería houses international variations of gin, from Australia’s Four Pillars to Germany’s Elephant Gin, which is served with blocks of ice in unapologetically large goblets and garnished with aromatics.

Dr Fern’s Gin Parlour hit the ground running when it opened last year, immediately claiming its place at #48 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars list. And with over 250 variations, it boasts the largest selections of gin in Hong Kong.

With a quirky backstory about an eccentric physician—named Doctor Fern, naturally—this basement speakeasy has gin drinking down to a science. From the temperature of the gin to the shape of the glass in which its served, no stone is left unturned here when it comes to preserving the integrity of the spirit.

Black Sheep Restaurant’s New Punjab Club might be a small space, but it certainly isn’t lacking. As well as looking like a Wes Anderson movie set, the theatrical restaurant is manned by buttoned-down uniformed waiters who welcome guests by rolling out the gin trolley featuring a curated selection of gins.

Whether you opt for a classic like Hendricks or stick to the New Punjab Club theme with Opihr oriental spiced gin, the pour is always perfect here.

There is a lot to love about La Rambla, like the panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and the delicious Spanish cuisine, but perhaps one of the most charming touches is the gin trolley—a nod to the restaurant's focus on Barcelona's vibrant food and drinks culture.

Stocked with 30 types of gin and a selection of 10 artisanal tonics, gin and tonics are crafted to order at your table, making for a fun and convivial experience.
