Sabrina Fung-Lam, Charles Yang and Michelle Ong were a few of the familiar faces in the crowd gathered at Sevva to celebrate the launch of Bonnae Gokson’s latest book, Weddings, Butterflies & the Sweetest Dreams. Following launch parties in New York and Manila, Bonnae, in collaboration with Hong Kong Tatler, hosted a select group of friends for the invitation-only event in the Bankside area of the restaurant that was filled with pink and white flowers from Yvonne Kung’s Rococo floral boutique. In typical Sevva-fashion there was an endless amount of champagne and cakes—many were drawn towards the five-tier wedding cake that was created especially for the occasion, which anchored the space. A high point of the evening was Bonnae’s speech where she thanked family, friends and fans for their ongoing support before she introduced illusionist Jeff Teo, who wowed the crowd with his medley of tricks. Her previous book, Butterflies and All Things Sweet, won three top international awards in 2014 and, judging by the number of guests queuing to get their hands on the latest offering, we’re sure it will be just as successful.
