Riccardo Tisci made a splash at London Fashion Week in February when he showed his Burberry autumn/winter 2019 Tempest collection. Inspired by the dualities in English culture, the line was a mix of bold suits and streetwear emblazoned with the legacy brand’s signature check. It was fitting, then, that the recent Hong Kong presentation of the collection took place at Tai Kwun, a former police station and prison renovated into a luxury commercial complex. While attendees ranged from fashionable young strivers to the city’s establishment—notable guests included Patricia Tung-Gaw, Ming Ho-Tang and Aron Harilela—they all seemed to be captivated by both sides of the collection, and the show ended with a standing ovation.
