Creating Memories At The Krug Room: A Private Dinner With Harris Chan
The fifth in a series of Creating Memories dinners saw Harris Chan and his closest friends toast to each other over an autumn feast of Krug Room delights and premium Krug champagne. Guests included Michelle Tang, Zing Ng, Karena Ng, Keno Lung, Shirley Chan and Queenie Rosita Law who gathered at the iconic Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong restaurant, the only Krug Room in the world. The evening kicked off with Krug Grand Cuvée 167ème Édition paired with an array of whimsical snacks by executive chef Robin Zavou, who delighted guests with his array of creations including a squid, pepper and clam "cookie" and a doughnut of caviar and sea urchin. Throughout the evening, impressive pours included Krug Grand Cuvée 164ème Édition En Magnum with the courses of red prawn with garum, charcoal and betel leaf; Krug 2006 with a truffle-heavy chawanmushi for the ultimate indulgence; Krug Rosé 21ème Édition with a creation fusing onion, oxtail, capers and black garlic; and finally Krug Grand Cuvée 163ème Édition with the unusual dessert titled Potato, with wafer, blackcurrant and beurre noisette. At the end of the night, the friends surprised Karena Ng with a beautiful cream cake to celebrate her birthday—which called for another round of toasting with the evening's finest champagne.
