Pansy Ho, Ming Ho-Tang, and Mignonne Cheng were just a few of the familiar faces we spotted in the crowd at a private dinner hosted by Christie’s to toast the opening of its private exhibition. Maharajas & Mughal Magnificence, which presents a remarkable selection of prized Mughal jewellery, objects, and gemstones, consisting of almost 400 pieces that span five hundred years of history, showcasing the best of Indian craftsmanship from the Mughal period and the age of the Maharajas through to the present day. The pieces are set to go under hammer, first at an auction in Hong Kong at the end of the month and then in New York next month. The evening started with a preview of the auction lots in an exhibition at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, which was followed by a private dinner at the Grand Hyatt Pool House.
