Exclusive: Hong Kong Arts Centre 40th Anniversary Fundraising Dinner
March 24, 2018 / Government House
There were plenty of funky outfits on show in keeping with the Pop Art theme at the Hong Kong Arts Centres (HKAC) 40th anniversary fundraising dinner—some of our favourites included Cathy Lee’s sequined gown, Cecilia Cheung’s printed blouse and Justin Hui’s colourful blazer. The evening honoured local artists including comic artist Theresa Lee and artist and composer Samson Young, for their contributions to the city’s creative scene. Winnie Chiu, the chairman of the Hong Kong Arts School Council commented, “art education can add another dimension by unleashing our creative side,” she said, “the feedback we receive from students is how the school has changed their lives for the better.” The HKAC is a self-funded, not-for-profit institution and all funds raised on the night support the HKAC’s comprehensive programmes and curriculum.
