VIPs gathered at Zuma for a cocktail party hosted by The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts in partnership with Hong Kong Tatler to toast the launch of The Ginto Residences in Niseko, Japan. The US$100 million development comprising 31 private villas is scheduled to open in 2019. The Pavilions Niseko is also being developed right next to The Ginto Residences and is scheduled to open at the same time. In a speech reporting on progress to date, Group founder and chief executive Gordon Oldham joked that he was expanding in Asia because he was too cheap to stay in a hotel, so he was building his own to save on holiday costs.
