In keeping with the theme of the Academy Ball, #LikeInAMovie, backdrops conjuring the sets of various movies transformed the cocktail space at the Lyric Theatre, providing an irresistible lure for the selfie-shooters among the more than 400 guests. The ball, organised by the Society of the Academy for Performing Arts and with Jaeger-LeCoultre as title sponsor for the third consecutive year, raised more than HK$10 million, a new record, to support scholarship programmes for students across the academy’s six art schools. Of course, as well as a sumptuous dinner, the guests enjoyed plenty of entertainment by academy students during the evening.
