Christmas celebrations started on a high note with the Hong Kong Ballet Guild’s annual benefit, which raises funds for the dance company, with part of the proceeds going directly to the company’s Dancers’ Sponsorship Fund, providing dancers with artistic exchanges both locally and abroad to further their education, experience and training.
Colleen Fung, Connie Wei-Yang and Liana Yung-Yeung chaired the event committee and successfully drew a crowd of more than 360 to the event, which was hosted at the Grand Hyatt. The undisputed highlight of the evening was a performance inspired by Terence Kohler’s The Nutcracker, which saw children aged two to 12 take to the stage with the Hong Kong Ballet’s professional dancers, with all of the cast—young and old—dressed in show-stopping outfits.
