The acquisition included Clockenflap's live concert and music and arts festival businesses

Global entertainment company Live Nation has acquired a controlling stake in Hong Kong-based Clockenflap’s flagship music and arts festival, as well as its live concert business Clockenflap Presents. The acquisition does not include Ticketflap, Clockenflap's partner ticketing platform, which remains an independent entity.

Earlier in the month, Clockenflap held its first festival in Hong Kong since 2018, featuring a mix of global and regional music acts including Wu-Tang Clan, Arctic Monkeys, Phoenix and Yellow. Tickets were sold out for the first time since the festival launched in 2008.

The festival will return for a second edition from December 1 to 3.

In a press statement, Clockenflap co-founder and music director Justin Sweeting said, “The Live Nation team share our vision for Clockenflap being one of the best city festivals in the world, and with Live Nation's support and resources, I'm excited for the future of the festival.”
