Newcomer Jessie wowed critics and audience members alike with her haunting performance as Wong Kai-mui in the 2015 thriller Port of Call, not an easy one to watch. Jessie plays a young prostitute who is brutally murdered by a psychotic killer, a plot made all the more visceral due to the fact that it was based on a real-life murder in 2008. In a bold move, Jessie bared it all on camera and astounded critics with her bravery and acting chops. Her stunning debut was recognised by a nomination for Best New Performer at the Golden Horse Awards and a win for Best Actress at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Jessie’s next project, One Night Only, is a light-hearted romance set to be released this summer. After her success so far, we can only assume this is just the beginning for this up-and-coming star.
