Trivia question: What business hasn’t Danny been involved in? Answer: We can’t actually think of one. The American-born entrepreneur got his first business break at the age of 25 when he franchised Hong Kong dessert chain Hui Lau Shan in the US. Since then, he’s grown to become somewhat of a serial entrepreneur, venturing into hospitality and furniture, and executing multi-million-dollar projects with MGM City Center in Las Vegas and City of Dreams in Macau.
In 2010, he founded group buying website uBuyiBuy, only to sell it to Groupon after just six months, becoming the company’s CEO for East Asia. The entrepreneurial itch struck again in 2014 as he ventured into healthcare—genetics, to be precise. Today, Danny’s company Prenetics is the largest digital health company for genetic testing in Southeast Asia. Oh yeah, he also co-founded KFIT and SXE Ventures. No biggie, though.
