May has transported traditional Chinese cuisine into the present and the future. Her ventures—Little Bao, Second Draft and, as of this year, new hotspot Happy Paradise—are hip havens of experimentation, offering fresh takes on humble Asian staple dishes such as dumplings and rice. May achieves that by applying fine-dining techniques and unexpected flavour twists to each and every dish, all of which are paired with top-notch libations.
Culinary enthusiasts, both in Hong Kong and internationally, have certainly taken notice—just look at the lines outside all of her establishments. Oh, and did we mention that Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants named her Asia’s Best Female Chef of 2017? We’re looking forward to whatever May is cooking up next.
