It’s not every day that you meet a woman who can take down pretty much anyone with one punch—but you’d better brace yourself for Ramona. As standout for her model looks as she is for her fierceness in the ring, the mixed-martial-arts (MMA) fighter is one of our city’s most impressive athletes—and an inspiration, given she only launched her professional career in combat sports at 27, has already won a bunch of gold medals, and was the first female to headline a Hong Kong fight event and compete for an MMA championship.

Age isn’t the only area where Ramona defies convention; she got into Muay Thai simply because she was looking for a way to break a sweat while in university, juggling it with another sport, rugby. Fast forward to today and she’s a champion-in-the-making, leading the charge for women in the Hong Kong MMA scene and in sports at large.
