1. The Maybourne Riviera
Conceptualised by the Maybourne Hotel Group (the same brand behind London's Claridge’s, the Connaught, and the Berkeley), The Maybourne Riviera is the company's first new-build property on the Côte d’Azur, which will officially open in Spring 2022.
The exterior was designed by one of France's foremost architects, Jean-Michel Wilmott, whose projects include the historic Hotel Lutetia in Paris and the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha. The dramatic, modernist building looks as if it was sculpted right into the cliffs above the picturesque Roquebrune-Cap-Martin village and features a cantilevered pool that projects out to sea.
The interiors are no less impressive with the 69 rooms and suites finessed by not less than six A-list designers, namely André Fu, Bryan O’Sullivan Studio, Marcelo Joulia, Pierre Yovanovitch, Pascal Goujon, and Rigby & Rigby, with more than 1,000 works of art and objects specially commissioned from international artists and artisans to complete the look.
