Italy’s annual Salone del Mobile fair in Milan is always on the top of mind for designers and architects alike, as they gather for the new collections and presentations by the world’s leading manufacturers and makers.
Held from April 18 to 23 as part of Milan Design Week, the 2023 edition of this trade show will dazzle with a series of inspiring talks, site-specific installations, and a gamut of beautiful booths that feature the latest products and key collections to be launched soon in showrooms worldwide. The festivities continue outside of the fair as well, with numerous furniture brands mounting an exciting array of installations and showcases, presenting novelties and products in new finishes.
This year, some of the most notable and upcoming Asian designers are also launching new collections that showcase their creative finesse while considering the needs of modern life. We highlight some of such innovative new products to be presented during this buzzy week.

1. Gabriel Tan
Gen.T honouree Gabriel Tan is having a banner year with new collections produced by some of the most notable furniture manufacturers around the world. The first to be launched is the Singaporean designer’s collaboration with Italian furniture giant B&B Italia which was presented during Milan Design Week 2023.
Presently based in Porto, Portugal, Tan is the founder of his namesake firm Gabriel Tan Studio, spatial design practice Antimatter, as well as Origin Made; the latter is a design collectibles brand retailing small-batch pieces hand crafted by Portuguese artisans.
