Muji Hotels’ latest offering extends its sustainable ethos in the eco-friendly Muji Base Kamogawa
Muji, short for Mujirushi Ryohin, which translates to “no-brand quality goods,” was founded in the early 1980s to provide simple, functional, and well-designed products at affordable prices. Muji's ethos revolves around three core principles: simplicity, utility, and sustainability.
Following the success of its retail outlets, Muji decided to expand its philosophy into the hospitality sector, with the first Muji Hotel opening in Shenzhen, China, in 2018, followed by locations in Beijing, Tokyo, and Kyoto.

The concept behind Muji Hotels mirrors the brand's ethos, aiming to provide guests with an environment that encourages relaxation, mindfulness, and a sense of belonging.
Hotel rooms feature minimalist decor, neutral colour palettes, and high-quality, sustainable materials that promote a calming ambience. All amenities and furnishings are selected to cater to guests' needs without overwhelming them with unnecessary extravagance.
