This organic freeform swimming pool is located in the 3,500 sq ft private garden of a family home in Fo Tan, Hong Kong. It is the work of Ada Leung of Adapa Architects, who carried out major changes to the home.

Geometric shapes and lines are an important theme in the design of the house—the garden itself has an irregular shape, in fact—and the philosophy is also reflected in the shape of the pool. It comes complete with a floating seating area. Next to the pool, find outdoor furniture from Belgian design house Tribù.

In the Manila home of Philip and Small Laude, the swimming pool is positioned by an inviting alfresco lounge area.

Small Laude, the lady of the house, was inspired by the modern architecture of Los Angeles. She enlisted Ed Calma, one of the most sought-after architects in the Philippines, to construct the home. Throughout the residence, clean lines, glass panels, slate greys, and deep blacks dominate the space.

3. In A Tropical Oasis In Kuala Lumpur

In this tropical oasis home in leafy Taman Seputeh, Kuala Lumpur, one of the homeowners’ requests was for a resort-style residence where the outdoors merged almost seamlessly with the indoors. The home is a corner house, meaning sufficient land for a lap pool and a semi-outdoor pavilion.

“[The homeowners] are avid travellers and love entertaining so the interaction of the pool pavilion … plus dining spaces serve their purpose well,” enthuses Seng Kheong Leong, one-half of the husband-and-wife duo behind ELD Sdn Bhd along with Eelin Loo.

Inspired by the pentagonal shape of a ski lodge, this striking house is one of three interconnected homes built on the same compound. The families looked to architecture firm RT+Q to design an ideal environment for harmonious multigenerational living. The brief was to construct three abodes, distinct from one another, that would be interconnected through communal spaces—such as a pool.
