The annual Evolution Asia Yoga Conference, a global event that brings together yogis from around the world, is coming to Hong Kong from June 7-10. With a lineup of yoga classes, workshops and panel discussions, take a look at some notable international and local yoga teachers who’ll be leading the movement.

1. Tymi Howard

A former professional ballet dancer, Tymi Howard is a certified international yoga teacher and owner of Guruv Yoga Studios in the United States. Having pioneered the Vinyasa yoga movement in Central Florida, she is a self-proclaimed travel junkie who has toured in many Yoga conventions around the world.

Catch this “teacher of teachers” as she leads a Vinyasa programme at the conference.

2. Miguel Sant’ana

No one does handstands quite like Miguel Sant’ana. A hand balancing master and teacher, capoeira artist and circus acrobat, Miguel started his training with 83-year-old master Claude Victoria—a veteran who’s been teaching “The Art of Hand Balancing” for 65 years.

Even if you can’t do a full handstand, simply looking at Miguel’s incredible poses will inspire you to start practising.

3. Jared McCann

Jared McCann, a two-time national and 2013 World Asana champion, is a certified international yoga teacher who holds an advanced E-RYT 500 designation. Founder of Lighthouse Yoga School in Brooklyn, New York, Jared prides himself in holding classes with a creative blend of traditional and modern yoga philosophies.

Take part in his challenging, healing and energising programmes that specialise in Hatha and Vinyasa yoga during the conference.

4. Colleen Saidman

Founder of Yoga Shanti and former international fashion model, Colleen Saidman committed herself to practising yoga after undergoing a back surgery. She's been featured in many international publications, and also hosts an online talk show called “Talking Yoga”.

5. Sianna Sherman

Sianna Sherman wears many hats—she's the founder of Rasa Yoga, Mythic Yoga Flow®, creator of Goddess Yoga in partnership with Yoga Journal and co-founder of Urban Priestess. She also holds a dual degree in biology and nutrition, and is known for merging the art of plant medicines and Celtic tradition in her practice.

A magnificent storyteller, you won't want to miss her Hatha Vinyasa, Mystic and Rasa-focused yoga programmes.

6. Ana Forrest

Certified regression therapist Ana Forrest fuses emotional healing and Native American medicine with the practice of yoga. She is internationally recognised as a pioneer in the therapeutic practice she teaches at her studio, Forrest Yoga, and is the acclaimed author of her book, Fierce Medicine: Breakthrough Practices to Heal the Body and Ignite the Spirit.

Ana creates and co-teaches all of her workshops and events with her partner, medicine man Jose Calarco.

7. Daniel Scott

Daniel Scott is an ashtanga-vinyasa teacher and Certified Level 2 AcroYoga instructor that started practising at the age of 25. With a mix of balance, strength, flexibility and breathwork, Daniel’s workshop focuses on gracefully moving through a series of postures.

8. Angela Lohse

Having received her teaching certification 15 years ago, Angela Lohse has been perfecting her practice in Asia. Her workshops are fluid and creative in style, and she’s known to infuse inspirational music to enhance the energy of the group.

9. Anjan Kundu

With over 10 certifications, Anjan Kundu began his yoga journey at the age of six. He began teaching when he was still in high school and has since attended and won accolades in more than 350 yoga competitions across India. Currently based in Hong Kong, you can catch this dedicated yogi at Pure Yoga.

10. Tryphena Chia

Tryphena Chia is the only 500hr certified Baptiste teacher in Asia. Based in Hong Kong, she moved from New York as a hotelier until she began her training in India in 2008. She's now a full-time yoga teacher.
