Renowned Fiction and Drift exhibition
Discover the mysterious artwork of the renowned Portuguese contemporary painter Jorge Martins at the newly-opened exhibition at Tap Seac Gallery. Featuring 23 oil-on-canvas paintings created throughout Martin’s long career, the exhibition represents all that is enigmatic in the artist’s oeuvre, the dramatic interplay of light, space and time, as well as his constant re-inscription of objects, figures or signs on different levels. The painter’s impressive creations, described by the philosopher Fernando Gil as “in praise of the minimal”, demonstrate a visual language possessed of forms and meaning that carry them beyond contemporaneity and into the timeless.

17th Macau Food Festival
One of the biggest annual events held in Macau—and getting bigger every year since its launch in 2001—the Food Festival spans five zones around the huge Sai Van Lake Square near the Macao Tower making it worth several visits. This year, the festival expands its reach in a culinary sense as well, showcasing delicacies from hundreds of local and international food merchants and restaurateurs, organized in ‘streets’, with each street dedicated to a particular cuisine. To work off the effects of overindulgence, the festival also features an amusement area where visitors can play at game booths, enjoy live music and dance performances or quench their thirst at the beer competition.
