What: Best known for its brilliant immersive art installations that mimic the ocean, forests and skies full of stars, Tokyo-based art collective teamLab is bringing its inimitable work to Macao. 2. Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon (Cancelled)

When: February 9

Where: Various starting points

What: Hong Kong’s largest marathon returns. Join more than 22,000 runners in tackling the challenging 42km route from Tsim Sha Tsui to Victoria Park, or go for the less strenuous half-marathon or 10k. There are also wheelchair races, a youth dash and a family run.

3. The Hong Kong Arts Festival

Where: Various locations

What: More than 100 of the world’s best music, opera, theatre and dance troupes, including the likes of Internationaal Theater Amsterdam and the Igor Moiseyev Ballet, converge in Hong Kong for the 48th edition of the Hong Kong Arts Festival.

4. The Hong Kong French Theater Festival

Where: Youth Square

What: Dedicated to French culture and theatre, this festival brings together four popular French plays: Sand, Hugo, Balzac Tout Commence; Intra Muros; Aime Comme Marquise; and L’affaire Dussaert. All plays come with English subtitles, with proceeds going to charity.

5. HKPO: Jaap's Beethoven 5 | Rachel Cheung

Where: Tsuen Wan Town Hall

What: The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra continues its celebrations of the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth with a rendition of his famed Fifth Symphony, while award-winning local pianist Rachel Cheung performs his rondo for piano and orchestra.

6. Ruel Free Time World Tour Hong Kong

What: Award-winning songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ruel returns to Hong Kong as part of his latest world tour. Expect tunes from his new album Free Time as well as hits such as Don’t Tell Me and Younger.

7. IllusfairHK
