The latest addition to the Powerbeats family keeps the cord to optimise your workout.

After much anticipation, previous leaks, and early debuts, Apple’s Beats by Dre has officially released its latest Powerbeats earbuds.

The successor to Powerbeats 3, which originally launched in 2016, the latest by Beats offers up to 15 hours of battery life so you can keep up with marathons, hikes, or multiple workout days in a single charge. It also boasts “Fast Fuel” technology, which offers a 5-minute charge that gives up to 1.5 hours of playback when the battery is low but your energy is high.

The wireless earbuds also feature a streamlined, round cable engineered to minimise friction even during your off road runs and secure-fit ear hooks for added stability and comfort—even after hours of wear.

While the cord connecting the two earbuds may seem archaic in the world of the AirPod, it actually was made to rest around your neck when not in use. What’s more, the Powerbeats are rated IPX4, which means they’re resilient against splashes of water and can withstand sweat and rain.

In terms of technical aspects, the latest Powerbeats will offer Audio Sharing, which will allow you to pair two sets of Beats headphones or AirPods to one iPhone and enjoy the same song, podcast, or movie while working out together. They also contain Apple’s H1 chip for easier pairing, hands-free “Hey Siri” voice controls, charging over lightning, and a power button with volume rocker for controlling music without reaching for your phone. The box also includes a USB-A to Lightning cable and a soft carrying pouch.

The upcoming Powerbeats will be available in black, white, and red, as of tomorrow (March 18) and will run you $1,199.
