At the Chow Tai Fook-owned luxury Bahamas resort, a new comprehensive Covid-19 travel safety protocol includes the option to take a private jet back to the United States

While there are still plenty of questions around how the world at large will ever get back to the good old days of frequent international travel, Baha Mar, the Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Limited-owned luxury Bahamas resort, has launched its "Travel With Confidence" programme—complete with testing and a safety net that will help put travellers' minds at ease (which is why we go on holiday, after all).

To help alleviate any anxiety around travelling home after a week spent soaking up the sun on Baha Mar's idyllic white sand beaches, the resort will provide any guest who tests positive prior to departure either a complimentary 14-day stay in a suite along with a daily dining credit of US$150 per guest or a courtesy private jet flight back to the United States for the affected guest and immediate family members.

"In this ever-changing travel environment, it is our goal to alleviate travelers' concerns surrounding COVID-19, in an effort to ensure the health, safety and comfort of our guests," said Graeme Davis, President, Baha Mar. "Our 'Travel with Confidence' programme is the first of its kind in the industry, providing travelers with added peace of mind and the option to safely return home, or quarantine at no added expense–the choice is theirs."

Baha Mar is a US$4.2 billion development that was acquired by Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Limited in 2016 and officially opened in April 2017. The property comprises three luxury hotels: the Rosewood, the SLS, and Grand Hyatt, which altogether accounts for 2,300 rooms, and is home to a slate of 40 highly-acclaimed restaurants including Chinese fine dining destination Shuang Ba; Carna, legendary butcher Dario Cecchini's first restaurant outside of Italy; a Cafe Boulud; and an island outpost of LA favourite Katsuya.

The Bahamas remained open to tourism in 2020 and Baha Mar offers on-site complimentary Covid-19 rapid antigen testing both upon arrival and pre-departure. On-site Covid-19 safety protocol includes mandatory mask-wearing in public areas, social distancing, as well as heightened cleanliness protocols and weekly testing for all staff.
