Staying inside didn’t stop the British street artist from unveiling new work.

It seems the global quarantine hasn’t stopped street artist Bansky from putting in some work. Like many people around the world, the artist has been continuing his work from the comfort of home. The famed street artist has joined those who have had to adapt their working life, bringing his outdoor work inside.

"My wife hates it when I work from home," Banksy said in a post on Instagram earlier this week, alongside a series of photos depicting illustrated rats along the walls of his bathroom.

In the series of five photos, the artist uses the bathroom to set the stage for a group of mischievous rat illustrations that includes one hanging from a lightswitch by its tail while one urinates into the toilet bowl and another stamps on a tube of toothpaste.

“People say graffiti is ugly, irresponsible and childish... but that's only if it's done properly,” the artist said in a previous statement.

According to ITV, the anonymous artist commonly makes use of rats as a method of social commentary and had begun his career by stenciling the animal throughout the streets of southwest England before becoming one of the most well-known global street artists.

The bathroom renovation was the first work Banksy had revealed since a Valentine’s Day mural in Bristol on February 13 of this year. The mural was of a young girl firing a slingshot of red flowers at a wall—but was defaced less than 24 hours after its unveiling and has been boarded up ever since.

A handful of other well-known Banksy murals can still be found around the world, particularly in the streets of Bristol, but also on the Pont Rouelle in Paris and in Cargo on Rivington Street in London, where visitors will find the artist’s ‘Designated Graffiti Area.
