The Hong Kong Ambassadors of Design, an organisation that celebrates and promotes the city’s and region’s creative talent, has put its money where its mouth is with the Ambassadors' Ball, an annual event on November 4 to raise funds for use by its Design Trust in stimulating talent through project-based grants. The organising committee—Anson Shum, Azura Mangunhardjono, Jane Chao-Lee, Kelly Ying, Peter Cheung, Nancy Fung, Queenie Rosita Law, Alan Lo, Joyce Tam and Evelyn Yo—appointed Stickyline, a former beneficiary of the Design Trust, as the creative director of the ball. The Hong Kong-based studio, which specialises in paper installations, is creating headpieces, sculptures and other amazing decorative items to capture the theme of the evening, which is “Dare to dream.” The guest of honour will be Chief Secretary Carrie Lam.

Ambassadors Marisa Yu, Nancy Fung, Joyce Tam and Alan Lo speak with us about the aims of the project, how the organisation has progressed in the last decade, and some of the inspiring work that has come from previous grants.
