The Bar provides lounge seating outside on a terrace overlooking the pool, gardens and mountains. Log-burning fireplaces ensure the terrace can be enjoyed all year round. Indoors, the Library has a cosy-yet-sophisticated living-room vibe, with floor-to-ceiling windows, book-filled shelves and a collection of carefully selected artworks.

Guests can also sample Bay Area favourites at Michelin-starred Madera restaurant, enjoy casual bites at the Pool Garden Terrace, indulge in bespoke seasonal tasting menus at the Birch Garden or even embark on chef-lead food tours.

For visitors to nearby San Francisco and San Jose, Rosewood Sand Hill makes for an excellent weekend trip. Those looking to organise a private dinner, reception or other celebration will benefit from the function rooms and outdoor garden venues, which can accommodate, respectively, up to 285 and 400 guests. Madera’s private dining rooms are ideal for intimate dinners of up to 14 guests, while the 2,769sqft ballroom is perfect for a wedding or party.
