Don't be surprised to see royalty, celebrities and high society from around the world at Caresse, Bodrum

Perched high above the azure waters of the Aegean sea, Caresse is a collection of ultra-luxury suites and private villas in the sun-kissed city of Bodrum, Turkey.

The Luxury Collection Resort & Spa extends all the way down to the white marble sand private beach, where the elite of Europe—and the world—soak up the sun in style next to a set of privately-owned superyachts.

Voted two years in a row as Europe’s Top Resort by the Condé Nast Traveler - Reader’s Choice Awards, it isn’t hard to see why Caresse is widely regarded as one of the world’s best hotels.

Location

Caresse is a 15-minute drive from the vibrant city of Bodrum, which is accessible by plane via Doha or Istanbul from Hong Kong.

Part of the famed Turkish Riviera, Bodrum is also a popular day trip from the Greek island of Kos, where frequent ferries transport tourists to and from each marina in as little as 20 minutes.

From Caresse, the charming villages and beach towns of Gümüşlük and Yalikavak are just another 40 minutes away by car, heading northwest.

Rooms

Below the private villas, Caresse has 67 guest rooms, nine suites and one king villa—all with ocean-facing balconies. The view of the overlapping mountains, from which Caresse’s logo is derived, is nothing short of spectacular but the interiors are equally impressive.

A subtle nautical theme is felt throughout with a soothing blue and white colour palette. In our Deluxe Marine Room, floor-to-ceiling windows, almond-shaped mirrors and smooth teak parquet flooring made us feel as though we were really at sea (minus the seasickness).

Other nice touches included the signature Luxury Collection bed, plush bathrobes, individual climate controls and Acqua di Parma amenities, all of which made our stay extra comfortable.

Facilities

Designed for relaxation and recreation, you can do as little or as much as you want at Caresse. The resort’s most popular spot is down at the crescent-shaped teak wood deck, where each extra-large day bed and umbrella can be moved and adjusted to suit your exact angles and needs.

Sexy lounge music provides the perfect soundtrack for the parade of beautiful bodies jumping in and out of the natural saltwater pool, while thatched roof umbrellas complement the orange daybeds on the beach.

Up by Glass Restaurant, take the perfect infinity pool pic against the skyline or engage in some retail therapy at the resort’s two curated gift shops stocked with colourful beachwear and accessories.

And don't forget about the famed Caresse spa, a 17,000 square foot spa with world-class ESPA treatments, a traditional Turkish hammam, TV-facing saunas, steam room, indoor pool, private jacuzzi and fitness centre with Pilates equipment.

Dining

Caresse has two restaurants on-site: La Plage by the private beach, which serves a menu of all-day South Aegean and Mediterranean-inspired dishes, and Glass Restaurant & Lounge Bar next to the hotel’s infinity pool, where guests can enjoy signature cocktails paired with panoramic views of the peninsula from the outdoor sunken terrace.

Wake up to a legendary Turkish breakfast each morning at Glass featuring a fantastic spread of Turkish breads and pastries, fresh yoghurts and jams, crisp cucumbers, tomatoes and grapes, plus local nuts, olives and cheese. Lastly, be sure to try the unfiltered Turkish coffee and local Turkish tea to wash everything down.

Service

From the golf-cart drivers shuttling guests up and down the resort to the staff at the concierge, restaurants, spa and pool, service at Caresse was consistently swift, professional and friendly.

Tatler Tip: The resort’s superyachts, including Miss B, can be chartered out for a private tour of the neighbouring islands. Caresse also has a partnership with Maserati as you'll see from the Maserati-sponsored lounges and areas in the resort and the car parked at the entrance, which guests including former F1 drivers can take for a test drive.
