If you’re still suffering from a case of the post-Christmas blues, never fear—Chinese New Year is just around the corner and Pacific Place’s fantastic lunar new year festivities are certain to inject a shot of much-needed holiday spirit into spring

To usher in the Year of the Pig, Pacific Place in Admiralty has created a beautiful spring garden symbolising “Where Fortune Takes Flight”, which is filled with over 60 colourful soaring kites designed exclusively for the mall by our very own Tatler 500 lister, Queenie Rosita Law.

Breathing fresh life into classic customs, these kites have been crafted into shapes inspired by traditional Chinese greetings—octagons for good fortune, butterflies for positivity and circular candy boxes for unity—with each carrying joyful blessings for good luck, prosperity and new beginnings in the coming year.

Visitors can walk through spiralling tunnels covered in flowers to make their wishes for health, wealth and blossoming fortune in the Year of the Pig, setting the kites in motion by swirling their spindles to reveal hidden Chinese blessings—an ideal place to take some fabulously festive photos with friends and family.

Customers can also reap the rewards of Pacific Place’s superb Chinese New Year shopping offers to receive exclusive privileges and special gifts.

Available from 22 January to 4 February 2019, shoppers who spend over HK$2,500 within the mall can snag an exclusive set of Pacific Place’s exquisitely-designed lai see packets, with additional gift vouchers given to shoppers who spend over HK$8,000—so what better time to treat yourself to a shopping spree amidst the mall’s amazing collection of luxury fashion and lifestyle brands? Simply head to the concierge desk with your receipts on the day to redeem your rewards.

Meanwhile, those who visit Pacific Place on February 12, 2019 can experience one of the most iconic parts of Chinese New Year—a thrilling lion dance parade accompanied by drums and cymbals, ready to spread good luck and prosperity for the start of the new year.

Don't miss the performances throughout the month by dynamic dance group, 'Heel Off The Line Dance,' and classical Chinese musical group 'Sonata Elite.' Inspired by the theme of ‘Where Fortune Takes Flight, 'Sonata Elite' will be performing a selection of classical Chinese New Year songs, using traditional Chinese instruments including the guzheng and yangqin, to ring in the new year.
