The celebrated ballerina shares her travel tips and favourite activities in the luxury hotel group

Recently joining luxury Rosewood Hotels and Resorts “Rosewood Curators” as the Beijing advisor, Tan Yuan Yuan, the renowned Shanghai-born ballerina, will be among a group of luminaries and leaders.

She will be sharing insider secrets, travel tips and favourite activities in various Rosewood destinations worldwide.

Hailed as one of the most outstanding ballerinas of our time, Tan has been the principal dancer of the San Francisco ballet for two decades. Through her 130 performances per year, from classical ballet to modern dance, the celebrated artist marries the best of East and West.

“Because I’m an artist myself, the reason I like Beijing so much is that the people are very creative and open to anything. Creativity draws my attention and inspires me,” says Tan. “The ancient and the modern co-exist in Beijing. It is fascinating – anything you can imagine, anything you can think of, is here.”

Launched in 2013, the pioneering Rosewood Curators programme gathers a group of elites from various backgrounds worldwide, including fashion editor Nina Garcia, film director Johnnie To and top auctioneer Simon de Pury.
