Disney fans rejoice, because a sequel to “Cruella” has been given the green light

The prequel to Disney’s iconic 101 Dalmatians, “Cruella" is getting a sequel after its notable box office success. Debuted in cinemas and Disney+ two weeks ago, the film, which stars Academy Award winner Emma Stone as the fabulously stylish villain Estella de Vil, is already earning big at the box office and gaining acclaim from critics and audiences alike.

So it should come as no surprise to Disney fans that the company is trying to get a sequel to the movie off the ground, which has previously enjoyed success adapting its classic animated films into live-action remakes, such as Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent (2014), Cinderella (2015), Beauty and the Beast (2017), Aladdin (2019) and The Lion King (2019).

According to reports, the sequel will reunite the film’s original director Craig Gillespie and screenwriter Tony McNamara. While the news has been confirmed by Disney, no concrete plot details and release dates have been shared yet.
