The first-ever dedicated Disney expedition cruise will be in partner with luxury French cruise line Ponant

Thrill-seeking travellers and their little ones will soon be able to visit one of the world’s most sought-after destinations in both comfort and luxury; the all-new Adventures by Disney Expedition Cruises will offer guests roundtrip cruise itineraries to Antarctica for the first time ever—starting as soon as this year.

“Our expedition itineraries offer a spectacular mix of planned and spur-of-the-moment activities geared toward families and adults traveling without children,” Disney said in a statement on its website.

In collaboration with luxury French cruise line, Ponant, the 12-day, 11-night expedition will begin with an overnight stay in Buenos Aires and a short flight to Ushuaia—the world's southernmost city—before boarding the luxury cruiseliner and heading to the white continent.

The itinerary is set to include a combination of adventure and relaxation-based activities, including nature immersion, kayaking, cocktail-making classes, talks and workshops by naturalists, and more optional events and offerings to keep both families and solo travellers engaged for the duration of the trip.

Interested in booking your spot on the bucket list cruiseliner? Prices will start at US$11,200 for children and US$12,500 for adults—which will include meals at the ship's onboard restaurants. Note that, while children are welcomed, little ones under 10 will not be permitted due to the at times rocky and strenuous nature of the journey.

The first departure is set to sail as soon as December 20, 2021 and a second will take place on January 30, 2022. Bookings have yet to open up just yet but are expected to become available later this month.
