When looking for a perfect getaway, the iconic Italian designer opts for picturesque untouched islands and exotic territories

To celebrate 40 years of excellence in the fashion industry, retail giant Armani has launched a campaign which lasts for 40 weeks. Aptly named as ‘#ATribute to 40 Years of Armani’, it will share the greatest and most memorable moments of the fashion house. As just one part of this innovative campaign, ‘Holidays’ explores every aspect of his multifaceted cultural empire.

As the mastermind behind the successful international clothing empire, cosmetics collection and hospitality business, world-renowned Italian clothing designer Giorgio Armani seek inspirations during his travels around the world.

Despite his jam-packed schedules and thriving business, the global jet-setter makes a point of carving out time to reboot through getaways.

Peaceful and secluded, private holiday retreats are where the famed entrepreneur relax and reconnect with nature.

Nestled between Sicily and Tunisia, Pantelleria is a small volcanic island in the Mediterrean. It has become one of the favorite utopian getaways of Armani, where he can immerse amidst the natural splendor and recharge during summer in his local holiday home.

“The beaches are stony, and the water is unbelievably clear, and there is no tourism on the island. It really is like something out of a dream – a true dream home,” says Armani.

Yearning for experiences which distinctively differ from his life in Milan, the designer’s favourite holiday destinations are always blessed by nature, tranquility and exoticism. Some of his favorite escapes include Africa and India.

As owner of two yachts, Armani also loves to set his mind free by travelling in the ocean. Once asked for his definition of happiness, the designer stated ‘Sitting on my boat, or by the pool at my holiday home on the island of Pantelleria, with good friends and family.’
