Expressionistic and highly detailed paintings will be on display in the Lehmann Maupin gallery when artist Hernan Bas debuts his first exhibition in Hong Kong. Titled Case Studies, the exhibition will depict lithe and androgynous male figures in the transitional period between youth and adulthood as Bas intends on weaving together tatler_stories of adolescent adventure.

With several male protagonists featured in the paintings, each has their own individual narrative paired with their paintings, which Bas has written from a psychoanalyst’s point of view. With very dark, obsessive and compulsive traits, laced with traumatic or unusual childhood experiences, the exhibition promises to be an interesting cerebral experience.
