Heart disease has been the third leading cause of deaths in Hong Kong since the 1960s, with approximately 11 Hong Kongers dying from coronary heart diseases every day—exactly the kind of sobering statistics that have led Hong Kong Adventist Hospital - Stubbs Road (HKAH-SR) to launch a series of revolutionary cardiac packages

HKAH-SR's new Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Packages are the first of their kind to be provided in Hong Kong.

Whilst most of the city’s other private hospitals only offer cardiac interventional check-up packages, HKAH-SR’s recently launched packages feature thorough coronary angiograms or percutaneous coronary intervention surgeries, alongside accompanying intra-vascular ultrasounds—offering the ultimate peace of mind to any patients suffering from serious heart problems.

Totally Transparent

With the recent trend towards more transparent prices, "HKAH-SR has taken the initiative to make all their packages totally transparent in their pricing—meaning patients can get a full overview of what services are and are not included right from the get-go, and are able to use these details for reference in advance of booking treatments", says Mr Alex Lan, President and CEO of HKAH.

A range of different types of package is available, including options catering for patients that prefer to stay in a private single room, semi-private room or standard ward.

Twenty-four-hour accommodation and nursing care are included as standard in all the Cardiac Catheterisation and Interventional Packages, alongside one- or two-hour examinations (depending on whether you require the Coronary Angiogram or Percutaneous Coronary Intervention package), the use of basic equipment and consumables, and basic medication in Cardiac Catheterisation and Interventional Operating Room.

Operational Excellence

In their pursuit of operational excellence, HKAH-SR has also recently renovated their hybrid Cardiac Catheterisation and Interventional Operating Room, meaning it has been designed to support both catheter-based and surgical procedures.

Having the ability to serve diagnostical, interventional and surgical functions leads to a significant improvement in the timeliness of treatments and minimalisation of surgical risk for patients suffering from heart disease.

The Adventist Heart Fund was first established in 1991 to provide both free and low-cost treatment for children with congenital heart disease, and has since served more than 300 patients. With over 28 years of experience and the opening of the Hybrid CCIC, the Adventist Heart Fund has expanded its services to adults this year. HKAH-SR is also the only private hospital in the city that currently provides interventional cardiac treatment and surgery services for paediatric patients.

Their state-of-the-art Hybrid Cath Lab has been equipped with the latest biplane imaging system from Siemens, which gives surgeons enhanced visualisation and precision for procedures, whilst also offering patients improved comfort, quicker recovery time, fewer complications, minimal radiation exposure and better long-term outcomes.

Given Hong Kong’s ageing population, it is highly likely that the number of heart-related problems in the city will continue to increase—so it’s more important than ever to know where to turn if things do become serious.

HKAH-SR’s all-new Cardiac Catheterisation and Interventional Packages guarantee transparent pricing, expert treatment and world-class quality of care, and even in the case of emergencies, cardiology services are still available to the public and you can check with the service charge package content—which means there's one less thing for you to worry about.
