Looking for a way to help victims of the tragic fires in Australia? These Hong Kong-based events and initiatives are raising money for Australian bushfire relief, from Australia Day celebrations to special smoothie bowls and harbourfront workouts

Feather & Bone

On Saturday January 25 from 12-5pm, Feather & Bone Mid-Levels will be throwing a rooftop party to celebrate Australia Day and will donate $200 from every ticket sold to the New South Wales Rural Fire Service. Enjoy free-flow Australian wine, beer and sausages and sip on gin and tonics to the sound of Triple J’s Hottest 100 Countdown.

Supabowl

Calling all Supabowlers! The acai cafe has created a special “Aussie Bowl” in order to raise awareness about the Australian bushfire and will be donating 30% of the bowls' profits to an organisation of the Supabowlers’ choice. The Aussie bowl is topped with bananas, strawberries, blueberries and white dragon fruit—to match the colours of the Australian flag—and is sprinkled with coco chips and little chocolate Koala bear cookies.

NINETYs

Those looking for a taste of Australia flock to NINETYs for its Australian-style brunch and specialty coffee. For this month only, the cafe will be donating HK$1 from each cup of coffee purchased to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund. For those who do not have time to stop by the shop but wish to participate, NINETYs has included a link to the Red Cross donation page on their social media post.

Little Creatures

Little Creatures Brewery is always one to stand up and offer support to various communities. This time, the Kennedy Town brewery is extending a hand to the little creatures that are in trouble by donating 100% of the sales of its newest beer—The Beergroni—to Australia's largest wildlife rescue organisation: WIRES Wildlife Rescue until January 19.

Coffee Academics

Sweat + Yoga

Members of the fitness community have come together to create Sweat + Yoga on Sunday, January 26 from 10am until 12pm at Tamar Park for just HK$200 per head. With a goal to raise HK$20,000, all cash and any additional donations will go to the Salvation Army to assist with bushfire relief.

Relief Run

Run for a good cause as global initiative "Relief Run" rallies people around the world to donate to those devastated by this disaster. Organised by Urban Active and Spartan Race Hong Kong, Hongkongers can do their part by signing up to run from Cyberport to the Hong Kong Observation Wheel in Central, with all proceeds going towards the Australian Red Cross. The run will take place this Saturday, January 18 at 7:30am.
