Verm City is possibly the most well-known indoor climbing gyms in the city––and rightfully so since it's a pioneer of the indoor climbing scene in Hong Kong, introducing rock climbing to the masses regardless of your experience level. Creating the first full facility rock climbing gym in 2011, its former name, da Verm offers bouldering, lead climbing, and top rope.

In 2017, rebranding to Verm City, they added Clip N' Climb to their array of activities, serving as a fun introduction to climbing. It includes 19 obstacles with varying themes for you to try. This 20,000 square feet of wall-to-wall climbing is a perfect playground for all ages. The gym is also home to Asia's first augmented wall where you can enjoy special effects and other interactive technology.

2. GoNature

GoNature in Kwun Tong, is a multi-coloured playground for kids and adults that has plenty on offer including bouldering, lead climbing, and abseiling. Their range of climbing routes and courses are designed for all purposes. So whether you're a regular there, a newbie, looking to host a birthday party, social gathering, or corporate training––they have it all.

3. Just Climb

With branches in both Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, Just Climb is easily accessible and convenient for aspiring or expert climbers. There are over 100 routes spanning eight difficulty levels to choose from. The gym is also well-equipped with shower facilities, leisure space and offers training sessions, stone wall engineering, and custom wall design services.

You can also hold birthday parties and corporate team building events. Managed by trainers with more than 20 years of experience in climbing services, Just Climb offers a safe and enjoyable way to try an otherwise extreme sport.

4. Attic V

Attic V in Wong Chuk Hang is spearheaded by climbing experts Joanna and Gwie who have 40 years of experience under their belt and have both climbed in different parts of the world including Greece, Spain, USA, Thailand, and China. The climbing duo designed, built, and currently manage the gym.

The gym opened its doors in 2015 and features over 100 routes. But there's a catch. The routes constantly change so each of your visit is always a refreshing one. Catering to any type of climbers, there are courses available for beginners and intermediate climbers.

The walls are easily colour-coded so you know which route suits your level. There is also a training area with different systems and machines to try. In between breaks, use the lounge area to unwind, hang out with other climbers at the shared workspace complete with a flat-screen television.

5. Hong Kong Climbing Park

Despite being relatively new, Hong Kong Climbing Park is also one of the largest in the city. With various different zones such as Lead Zone, Bouldering Zone, Training Zone, and Ninja Warrior Zone available for all climbing levels––you can't go wrong no matter what you choose. New routes are also circulated on a regular basis to keep your climbs interesting.

For absolute beginners, there will be instructors available to introduce you to different styles of climbing, guide you through basic techniques, and brief you on safety instructions. If you're more experienced, you're welcome to use the auto-belay system and bouldering walls.
