We spoke to guests at the Design Trust’s Ambassadors Ball asking them a series of questions related to creativity and design in Hong Kong

A sight that conjured images of a wet market—fish sculptures hanging from the ceiling of the creative hub, greeted guests arriving at PMQ for the Ambassadors Ball. They were the work of local artists Mic Leong and Soilworm Lai, whose studio Stickyline was engaged to spearhead the creative direction of the ball, staged annually by the Hong Kong Ambassadors of Design to raise funds for the Design Trust. The duo’s visuals clearly announced the theme of the evening, “Salted Fish,” which was inspired by a line from Stephen Chow’s 2001 flick Shaolin Soccer: “Without any dreams in life, we would be like salted fish.” We caught up with some of the guests during the cocktail party where we asked them a few questions related to design, creativity and the design trust’s work in the region.
