A luxury escape away from the Okinawa main island

Japan is becoming one of the most popular destinations for an island getaway—and just when you thought a truly secluded island free from tourist crowds didn't exist anymore, a visit to the Miyako Islands of Okinawa Prefecture might prove you wrong.

IRAPH SUI, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Miyako Okinawa, the latest addition to Marriott International’s Luxury Collection, boasts a pristine location on the southern coastline of Irabu, a small island in the Miyako island group. Owned by the Mori Trust Group, the luxury hotel brand’s third property in Japan is set to open on December 19, just in time for the holiday season.

Ideal for trendy travellers looking for off-the-beaten path experiences, IRAPH SUI, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Miyako Okinawa is precisely where nature meets luxury.

As President of Mori Trust Group Miwako Date puts it, “This warm, unspoilt and idyllic region of Japan is well-known for its stunning seascapes and natural beauty, and our new hotel will showcase its charms and treasures to the most discerning of luxury travelers.”

The resort will feature 58 guest rooms, including four suites and 14 junior suites, with those on the first floor featuring a private pool or open-air jet bath. A holiday with your furry friends has never been easier with the resort's four dog-friendly rooms, as well as other room types that overlook dyllic sea views and the coral reef beach.

While there’s plenty to explore around the island, the first-rate hotel amenities, highlighting a 72-foot outdoor swimming pool, fully equipped fitness centre and spa, beach club and all-day restaurant, will make you feel right at home.

Known for their scenic white sand beaches and turquoise waters, the Miyako islands make incredibly gorgeous scuba diving destinations, where unique underwater rock formations, colossal Ryūkyū limestone arches, underwater caves and vibrant marine life are highly visible.

Just 250 miles east of Taipei, the entry point of the islands is located in the city of Miyakojima, where Miyako airport has direct flights connecting to Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya.

Set to be another popular destination by The Luxury Collection, IRAPH SUI, Miyako Okinawa will follow the legacy of the hotel brand, paying tribute to the destination’s indigenous beauty and distinctive locale with thoughtful designs and faultless hospitality.
