The exhibit showcases Robinson’s growth as an artist and makes for a colourful collection of pieces that showcase his abstract intepretation of the male form

Kim Robinson has established a reputation for being one of Asia’s premier hairstylists counting socialites and celebrities among his extensive client list however, Robinson will present Evocateur, a solo exhibition of his paintings at Sai Ying Pun gallery, 3812.

Evocateur showcases how Robinson explores bold new themes stemming from his personal inspirations paired with his abstract style of painting. The exhibit is a result of over two years of multimedia work using oils, acrylic, and resins for layered and profoundly intricate artwork. The definite strokes of his artwork reflects his personality, his bold style has been a signature of his since he started painting years ago.

Robinson’s subject matter has evolved as he’s gained more experience and confidence, from a focus on expressive portraits to his current focus on the male form. Although he previously worked with a specific colour palette of greys, blacks, and neutrals, Robinson’s growth as an artist is evident from his use of colour which work seamlessly with his method of strong brush-strokes, making Evocateur somewhat of a turning point in his creative practice.
