Bae In-hyuk is certainly making a name for himself. The actor gained popularity with the web drama, XX and nabbed his first role in The Spies Who Loved Me. He's currently catching the attention of K-drama watchers in My Roommate Is A Gumiho and At A Distance Spring Is Green—at the same time.

It seems that the actor's second lead streak continues with Why Oh Soo Jae, his new drama opposite Seo Hyun-jin of You Are My Spring while Hwang In-yeop is still in talks to play the male lead. Bae will play Choi Yoon-sang, a sophomore at Seojoong University's law school and the second son of TK Law Firm head, Choi Tae Guk. He develops a crush on his tutor, Oh Soo Jae (Seo) while preparing to retake his college entrance exam. He eventually gets in and reunites with her at the university's legal clinic where she works as a professor.

The drama will be penned by Kim Ji-eun and directed by Park Soo-jin and is slated to premiere sometime next year.

Ahead of its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, Emergency Declaration released an official poster and still images. The new disaster movie has a star-studded cast including Parasite actor and Cannes jury member Song Kang-ho, Cannes Best Actress Jeon Do-yeon, Lee Byung-hun, Kim Nam-gil, Im Si-wan, Kim So-jin and Park Hae-joon. The story follows an aeroplane when it's forced to make an emergency landing.

The official stills show each character in their various roles, Sang playing a detective, Jeon as a general, Lee as a father with fear of aeroplanes, Kim Nam-gil as the co-pilot, Im as an aeroplane passenger, Kim So-jin as a flight attendant and Park as the head of the government's crisis management centre.

Directed by Han Jae-rim, the movie has been selected for the Out of Competition section at the Cannes Film Festival 2021.

Actress Park Eun-bin may be starring in a new drama following confirmation that she's already doing one with Rowoon sometime this year. Her agency, Namoo Actors confirmed that the actress is "currently in talks to appear [in Unusual Lawyer Woo Young Woo], with a favourable outlook". Park has been offered the role of Woo Young-woo.

The legal drama follows a 27-year-old lawyer, Woo Young-woo who has Asperger's syndrome. She has an IQ of 164, an impressive memory and creative thought process, allowing her to graduate at the top of her class from the prestigious Seoul National University. But she finds it difficult when it comes to social interactions.

JTBC confirmed that Kim Ji-won, Lee Min-ki, Lee El and Son Seok-gu will be leading the new K-drama, Will This Be My Liberation. It will tell the story of three siblings who want to escape their miserable lives. A mysterious outsider also comes to their town. The drama will see Kim Ji-won and Lee Min-ki reunite after the 2018 film, Detective K: Secret of the Living Dead while Son and Lee El are also reuniting after playing a married couple in 2018 drama, Matrimonial Chaos.

Kim Ji-won is taking on the role of Yum Min-jung, a time and introverted woman who's the youngest child of the family. She feels completely alone and eventually decides to "liberate" herself from her mundane life. Lee Min-ki is playing Yum Chang-hee, the middle child of the family. He initially wanted to move to the city but things didn't go as planned. He remains aimless in life, without any particular goal and ambition. Lee El is starring as the eldest child of the family who's fierce, but is only well-behaved when she gets her paycheck from her job in Seoul. She's also desperate to find love.

Finally, Son Seok-gu will be playing the mysterious outsider Mr. Gu, who suddenly arrives in this quiet town. Everyone there is curious why he chose their boring town—people there want to leave but no one ever moves there. But Mr. Gu is like them, drunk almost every day and has lost his way in life until Yum Min-jung approaches him.

The drama is set to premiere sometime next year.

Train To Busan director Yeon Sang-ho has a new sci-fi film for Netflix. Jung-E (working title) has confirmed that Kang Soo-youn, Kim Hyun-joo and Ryu Kyung-soo will star as the main characters. The new movie will be set in the 22nd century where climate change has made Earth inhabitable and humans are living in a man-made shelter. An internal war breaks out and its come hinges on the success of brain cloning technology of the legendary robot mercenary, Jung-E.

Yeon has been redefining the future of Korean cinema with his blockbuster hits, Train to Busan, Peninsula and the upcoming Hellbound. His latest movie will focus on the themes of brain cloning and human-like mercenary robots. The casting choices are also worth noting particularly Kang Soo-youn, who is returning from an eight-year hiatus to play Seo-hyeon, the team leader of a lab for brain cloning and AI technology. Kang is the first Korean to take home the Best Actress award at the Venice Film Festival for her role in The Surrogate Womb (1986).

Meanwhile, Kim Hyun-joo will play the titular Jung-E, the elite soldier of the allied forces fighting the shelter troops and the subject of brain-clone testing. Kim showcased powerful performances in Watcher and the upcoming Undercover, and will once again treat viewers with her portrayal of the legendary mercenary. Finally, Ryu Kung-soo will take on the role of Sang-hun, the research centre director determined to succeed in cloning Jung-E's brand. Ryu undergoes a transformation for this role, as he's known for his comedic acts in Itaewon Class and Lovestruck in the City. Both Kim and Ryu are working with director Yeon for Hellbound, an upcoming Netflix series.

Just another historic moment for BTS as they continue their number one streak on the Billboard charts for the sixth week with Butter. It's one of the 10 songs that stayed at number one for more than six weeks in Billboard's entire history and is the second-longest streak for a song by a group.

Meanwhile, the group has a new single Permission to Dance released on July 9, also known as ARMY Day (ARMY referring to their fans). The new track coincides with the release of the CD version of Butter and was co-written by Ed Sheeran.

In BTS related news, it's been revealed that South Korean credit card company, Shinhan Card is partnering with Hybe's WeVerse company to release a new private label credit card (PLCC) featuring BTS and other artists such as TXT, Seventeen, Enhypen, Everglow and more. A PLCC is a store-branded credit card that is created for use with a specific retailer, which in this case is the WeVerse shop where fans can be albums, concert goods and other official merchandise.

Star Kids' new mixtape, Oh debuted at number one at the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart—their first time topping the chart. It's also the group's 26th entry into the chart. Oh was released as a digital single with a music video dropping on June.

It included member Hyunjin, who returned from a hiatus since February. After this, JYP Entertainment confirmed that Hyunjin will be resuming activities from July onwards. The group is reported to be preparing for a comeback in August.

Day6's sub-unit, Even of Day is back with a new mini-album, Right Through Me. Members Young K in bass, Wonpil in keyboard and Dowoon in drums released the seven-track mini-album on July 5. The music video for the title track of the same name boasts neon-lit visuals.

The mini-album is entirely self-written by Young K and Wonpil and is the follow-up to the sub-unit's first mini-album last year. As a whole group, Day6 also just recently made their comeback in April with the mini-album, The Book of Us: Negentropy — Chaos Swallowed Up In Love.

(G)I-DLE’s Jeon Soyeon makes her solo comeback with the mini-album Windy. The five-track album boasts a mix of various genres including title track Beam Beam, a summer song that fuses rock and hip hop. The mini-album is inspired by the artist's alter ego who "likes fast food and skateboarding and has the outspoken attitude of Gen-Z and is a rebellious character set apart from Soyeon" according to a press release.

Since its release, Windy has topped the iTunes Top Albums charts in 21 regions including Canada, the Philippines and Malaysia. It has also taken the number one spot on Rakuten Music's real-time chart in Japan.
