The Targa even features a removable roof to turn the car into a convertible

Covid-19 has inspired us to all get craftier this past year—from learning new skills and challenging ourselves to hobbies such as at-home gardening and 1,000-pieces puzzles. If you feel like you’ve exhausted all your activity options at home, Lego has been introducing more adult-friendly kits for you to try and complete. Their latest Lego set, a replica of the vintage Porsche 911 Turbo or convertible Targa will make car fans around the world drool.

Made up of 1,458 Lego pieces, the two-in-one model kit allows you to choose between building the Turbo model with its turbocharged engine, or the Targa which comes with the Targa bar and removable roof. Both Porsches feature painstaking details to recreate the two door 2+2 cabin, including sculpted bonnet, angled headlamps, and orange brown interiors that mirror the upholstery found in present-day 911s.

Perhaps one of the most exciting parts of the Targa is the removable roof that can be kept underneath the hood, turning the car into a classy convertible. For the sporty Turbo, a fixed roof is present instead, alongside the trademark wide rear axle, an integrated spoiler and a turbocharged engine with intercooler.

The Porsche 911 was first produced in 1963 and was ranked number five as the car of the century in 1999. While the model has been enhanced throughout the years, the concept has been mostly unchanged.

The Porsche 911 Lego Set is priced at US$149.99 and will be available for VIP early access from February 16. General customers are also able to purchase it online and in-stores from March 1.
